Mother's Day Crafts

FLIP FLOPS FOR MOM-    She'll love this!

Flip flops
RibboCut n about 1" wide,
about 4" long.

Tie and knot around the thong part of the shoe


A BIG BIG HUG FOR MOM & GRANDMA
Paper, (construction works best)
Yarn
Scissors

Trace and cut out both of your hands on paper
Cut yarn about the length of your "hug"
Glue yarn to hands
You can write a note or draw a picture on hands


A BOOKMARK

craft stick, or popsicle stick
a small picture of yourself
glue
paint or marker

Paint or color stick and let dry
Cut out a small picture of yourself and glue to stick

Moms and Grandmoms will love this

WRIST WRAP- this is great!
A colored or patterned sock
Stick on Velcro

Measure the length of the sock and if too long cut a little off the open end, not the toe.
Put Velcro on both ends of sock for closing.

For putting inside the sock keys, cards, money etc. then fasten with velcro.  No clumsy purses to carry


A PENCIL HOLDER - easy and fun
A ceramic toothbrush holder
Decorative paper
 
Cut out flowers etc. from paper. 
Glue onto brush holder
You can continue to decorate with ribbon, yarn etc if  you wish


         PILLOWCASE
Place  some newpaper or cardboard inside the case.
Use fabric paint to decorate and don't forget to write "MOM" on it

                 CANDY JAR
 
Fill a jar with your Mom's favorite candy
Screw on the lid and cover it with glue.
Glue  some silk flowers
 or any other decoration you wish to cover the lid.
Tie the piece of ribbon around the neck of jar




CD Candle Display

Place an old CD, shiny side up.
 Place a tall or small votive candle on top.

Mom will love the reflection from it.
You could do this with more than one for a Mother's day  centerpiece


STUFF TO DO WITH BUTTONS

Glue buttons to a picture frame

Glue buttons to the lid of a small jewelry gift box

Glue buttons to a thin belt

Cut the back of a cereal box.  Glue a piece of checkered cloth (you can use an old curtain or tablecloth)
Use buttons for chips

MAKE A BELT-BRACELET

Cut an old belt  a little larger than your Mom's wrist, using the buckle to close it.  Punch a few holes in the end with a sharp pencil  You can decorate, or glue it to add sparkles, or just use a belt already decorated.

HANGING MOM GREETING
1 embroidery hoop
piece of plain fabric
fabric paint
piece of thin ribbon

Before putting the fabric between the hoop rings, loop the ribbon around the larger ring, and tie at the ends.
Put fabric on and the second ring to hold securely.  
Now write a Mother's Day message, or artwork
